Seniors@Work and Lengin Development

Seniors@Work’s founder and CTO, Alexis, discovered Lengin on Upwork and was impressed by our extensive portfolio and positive client reviews. He needed a dedicated full-stack developer to take his web app to the next level of functionality and user-friendliness.

Wordfence ensuring security, and Cloudflare optimizing performance. On the frontend, JavaScript, jQuery, and SCSS were employed for dynamic and visually appealing user interfaces.

Langin’s Contributions to Seniors@Work

As our collaboration has spanned, we have actively contributed to the development of a brand-new website version. Our involvement includes creating and shaping numerous features, resolving bugs, and optimizing performance.

We integrated and customized the latest job portal features into Seniors@Work, dividing its interface into two key aspects:

  • Company Interface: This allows users to post job openings, search for candidates, and engage in app-based chats.
  • Applicants Interface: Here, users can upload CVs, search for open positions using custom filters, and set notifications for relevant job opportunities.

Candidates’ View

Upon registering as a job-seeking candidate, you unlock a comprehensive view that encompasses an extensive list of available positions and the corresponding company profiles that posted them. To enhance the efficiency of your job search, applicants can set filters for the job listings and receive timely notifications when relevant positions are posted.

Furthermore, candidates have the ability to engage in direct communication with any company through the portal. The customizable company filter is a valuable tool that allows candidates to precisely identify the most relevant jobs in proximity to their location.

Hiring at Seniors@Work

Seniors@Work welcomes businesses of all kinds to join the platform.

Following the registration process, you gain access to a database of applicants looking for job opportunities. As a company, you have the flexibility to set filters to find the most relevant applicants. In case there are no suitable profiles currently available, you can set up alerts to be notified as soon as a matching candidate’s profile appears on the platform.

Business and Analytics Adjustments

We streamlined our data processes by configuring Business Analytics to effortlessly upload the database to Google Sheets, facilitating a seamless data migration through an efficient export mechanism. Simultaneously, we collaborated with Google Analytics, establishing a robust connection between Google Analytics and Business Analytics.

To address unique needs, we utilized custom MySQL requests, ensuring a precise and tailored data export to Google Sheets. This comprehensive approach enhanced the overall efficiency of our data management system, providing a more refined and effective solution for our specific requirements.

Interview insights
How and why did you choose Lengin?

I found Lengin via UpWork. 

I wanted to find reliable developers who are more or less in the same time zone and have more or less the same mentality. 

Here, it is too expensive, and with a standard agency in Switzerland, you have a contract where you have to take the developer for at least six months full-time, etc. However, it’s very important for an early-stage start-up to have the flexibility, for example, to reduce the workload for the next few weeks.

Why didn’t you choose cheaper options?

In the past, I also worked with Indian and Pakistani agencies, and it was difficult because we were not online at the same time, as well as in terms of mentality. And in the end, it’s not good enough if it’s only cheap, but it should also be of some quality.

Also for me, it’s clear that I don’t want to work with freelancers anymore. I realized that once you want to grow as a start-up and need more IT resources, it’s very difficult with freelancers because you need to find a new one.

What were the main reasons for continuing to collaborate with Lengin?

The best value is that Lengin can offer more IT resources in the future and flexibility in the workload. But also important for me is that I know if the developer has a question or doesn’t know how to fix a problem, he has a team of other experienced developers with whom he can exchange experiences.

I’m very happy. I got exactly what I expected – the flexibility and not only one developer but, in the end, a team of different individuals. That’s the best case for me.

What concerns did you have before collaborating with Lengin?

For me, obviously one point is the cost. Let’s be honest. It’s very important for me to have flexibility in this term and not have fixed costs for the next six months, for example. 

You never know. Perhaps next month you’ll be bankrupt, and then you won’t want to have the responsibility to pay for another five months for something you don’t use anymore.

Did you have any trust issues towards working with an agency?

It’s important to have trust and a good relationship with the developer and the agency. I spoke to many different agencies. I didn’t want to go to a big one where you are just a number. So, at your agency, I feel it’s more personal. I can always talk to you, which gives me a lot of trust.

Also, Seniors@Work is like our heart, and I need to trust that my partner is not doing something harmful to the platform.

Would you recommend Lengin?

Definitely! I would recommend your agency because the value I get is huge. 

As I mentioned before, flexibility. I can regulate the workload from one week to the other, which is an amazing ability to reduce costs. 

Also, I have the opportunity to discuss new projects. And there is really a team of different experts. All in all, it’s exactly what I’m looking for.
